Throw a Tattoo Party (it’s not what you’re thinking)

One of the reasons I love being an event planner so much is the fact that it’s a blast. Sure, it’s a lot of work. Sure, there’s a huge serious side to it. Business is business. But event planing is far from boring. It’s a riot.

Good thing for me, I work in a field where my creativity and quirkiness is an asset. I have an eye for fun and funky touches that aren’t cheesy. Take these temporary tattoos for example. I mean, you’ve got to admit, temporary tattoos that aren’t cheesy are a pretty big score.

Wouldn’t it be hilarious to wear these at your next casual dinner party? Pretend for a moment that you’re a tattooed foodie bad ass with a cork screw on your forearm.

Ridiculous? Maybe. But you can’t say it won’t spark some conversation and laughs. Plus, if you notice, the drawings are really done well by a talented designer (who, among other things, designs product packaging for some of your favorite brands, by the way).

What am I getting at here? Keep your eyes peeled for completely unexpected artistic touches to bring an element of surprise and whimsy to your events.

How do you know something you consider funny won’t go over like a lead balloon? Well, you don’t. But if you know your guests well, don’t be afraid to go for humor. Just make sure it’s in good taste, aesthetically pleasing, and relatedly witty.
